This apparatus is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of metal rod (Copper).
Experimental setup consisting of:

  • Test rod of copper of 12mm dia. and 200mm long.
  • Ring type Heater
  • Cooling chamber of dia125mm and 50mm long with arrangement for water circulation
  • Shell filled with asbestos insulating powder
  • Set of thermocouples - 6 Nos.

  • 2.Thermal Conductivity of Insulation Powder Apparatus

    This apparatus is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of Insulating Powder (Asbestos Powder).
    Experimental setup consisting of:

  • Mica insulated nichrome Ring type heater
  • Inner copper sphere of radius 100mm
  • Outer copper sphere of radius 200mm
  • Set of thermocouple - 4 Nos.
  • Asbestos Powder is filled in between the outer sphere and inner sphere.
