1.Refrigeration Test Rig

• This unit consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary or expansion valves are next to condensers following by medium temperature evaporators. Electrical energy supplied to compressor can be measured by energy meter. This apparatus is
used to perform following experiments:
• To determine COP of unit.
• To draw P-H Chart.
• To draw T-S Chart.
Specifications:
• Compressor : 0.25 ton
• Air cooled condenser : Suitable for above compressor with suitable cooling fan.
• Expansion device : Expansion Valve.
• Evaporator coil : Suitable for above compressor immersed In water tank.
• Refrigerant : Freon-134R
• Energy meter : For power measurement of compressor
• Pressure gauges : 2 Nos. for high pressure for low pressure.
• Service valve : 1 No. Needle type
• Ammeter : 1 No.
• Voltmeter : 1 No.

2.Air Conditioning Test Rig

This unit consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary or expansion valves are next to condensers followed by medium temperature evaporators. Electrical energy supplied to the compressor can be measured by energy meter. This Test Rig is used to perform the following experiments:
• To calculate the COP of unit.
• To calculate the refrigerating effect and HP of unit.
• To determine the sensible heat factor of air.

• Air cooled condenser : Suitable for above compressor with suitable cooling fan.
• Expansion device : Capillary tube.
• Evaporator coil : Suitable for above compressor immersed in duct.

3. Mechanical Heat Pump Test Rig

The working principal of Heat Pump and Refrigerating Machine is the same and same components. Heat pump is a machine which delivers heat at temperature suitable for either domestic, industrial and commercial purposes. The majority of heat pumps operate on the vapour compression cycle using a refrigerant as working fluid. This Mechanical Heat Pump is fully sealed R-134 refrigerant system using water to water heat pumping principle.
This apparatus is used to perform the following experiments:
Study of mechanical heat pump.
To determine the COP of the unit.
Specifications:
• Compressor : Hermetically sealed, approx. 0.75 Ton cooling capacity.
• Condenser : Water cooled, shell & coil type of suitable capacity.
• Expansion Device : Expention valve.
• Evaporator : Water cooled, shell & coil type of suitable capacity.

4.Water Chilling Plant Test Rig

This unit consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary or expansion valves are next to condensers following by medium temperature evaporators. Evaporator is surrounded to water tank.
Electrical energy supplied to compressor can be measured by energy meter. This apparatus is used to perform the following experiments:
• To study the water chilling plant.
• To determine COP of unit.
Specifications:
• Compressor :0.3 ton
• Air cooled condenser : Suitable for above compressor with suitable cooling fan.
• Expansion device : Capillary tube.
• Water Tank : Water tank surrounded by evaporator having inlet and outlet of water.
• A agitator motor is fitted to agitate the water.
• Refrigerant : Freon-R134a
• Energy meter : For power measurement of compressor
• Pressure gauges : 2 Nos. for high pressure for low pressure.

5.Ice Plant Test Rig

This unit consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary or expansion valves are next to condensers followed by medium temperature evaporators. Electrical energy supplied to the compressor can be measured by energy meter. The evaporator is immersed in the brine solution tank.
The apparatus is used to perform the following experiments:
• To determine the coefficient of performance of unit.
• To determine the refrigerating capacity and tonnage of unit.
• Ice making capacity of unit.
Specifications:
• Compressor : Hermetically sealed, approx. 0.75Ton cooling capacity.
• Air cooled condenser : Suitable for above compressor with suitable cooling fan.
• Expansion device : Capillary tube.
• Evaporator coil : Suitable for above compressor immersed in immersed brine solution tank.
• Ice Canes : 3 Nos. (make of thick GI sheets)
• Refrigerant : Freon-R134a

6.Water Cooling Tower Test Rig

• Experimental water cooler test rig to conduct experiment to determine the coefficient of performance of the unit.

• Air Blower Fan with 1.5 HP AC Motor
• Water flow measurement through 10 LPM rotameter
• Digital temperature : Indicator (4-channel)
• Other accessories: Service valve - 3 Nos.
• Duck Size 8 Ft Long, width 3 Ft
• water circulate through ½ HP Monoblock pump
• Instruction manual: An instruction manual is provided with test rig and in which the above equipment range and procedure of experiments, precautions for above equipment described in detail.





7.Cold Storage Test Rig


This unit consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary or expansion valves are next to condensers followed by medium temperature evaporators.
